Just recently, I had a man pay a visit to me around issues with his erectile difficulties (I hate calling it erectile dysfunction). He was able to get an erection but it was painful due to having a condition called Peyronie's disease.
So, you may ask what is Peyronie's? (Otherwise called penile fibrosis.)
Here is the information that the Mayo Clinic shared about Peyronie's disease:
Peyronie's (pay-roe-NEEZ) disease is the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis that causes curved, painful erections. Penises vary in shape and size, and having a curved erection isn't necessarily a cause for concern. But Peyronie's disease causes a significant bend or pain in some men.
This can prevent you from having sex or might make it difficult to get or maintain an erection (erectile dysfunction).
There are several different symptoms of Peyronie's Disease.
Scar tissue. The scar tissue (plaques) associated with Peyronie's disease can be felt under the skin of the penis as flat lumps or a band of hard tissue.
A significant bend to the penis. Your penis might be curved upward, downward or bent to one side. In some cases, the erect penis might have narrowing, indentations or an hourglass appearance, with a tight, narrow band around the shaft.
Erection problems. Peyronie's disease might cause problems getting or maintaining an erection (erectile dysfunction).
Shortening of the penis. Your penis might become shorter as a result of Peyronie's disease.
Pain. You might have penile pain, with or without an erection.
There are many different treatments for Peyronie's Disease, from surgery to ayurvedic medicine. However, as a trained sexological bodyworker, I have had some training with scar tissue remediation. We use various touch, glides, rubbing and stroking around a scar to help untangle nerves that may have been jumbled due to surgery, disease or interruptions to the body.
When Derek, a man in his 40's came to see me, he was in a frustrated state. He had surgery on a completely different part of his body and had to stay in the hospital for several days. A penile catheter was inserted in him during the surgery and recovery. When it was time for removal it was pulled forcefully injuring his penis. Shortly afterwards, plaque started to form in his cock and he began to notice discomfort when he was erect and that his penis began to bend slightly.
Derek was feeling defeated. Every time he became erect, his penis hurt. It was not only affecting him physically, it was taking a toll on him emotionally. Masturbation became uncomfortable and agonizing at times. When he would engage in sex with other men, he would lose his erection, creating a new set of problems to deal with when being intimate with another.

We had several issues to address. But first was how to alleviate the soreness from the plaque that was hidden underneath the skin of the shaft of his penis. I told him we were using castor oil. Yes, castor oil!
Castor oil is a terrific natural remedy for Peyronie's Disease. When applied topically to the penis, particularly the plaque spots and scar tissue, it helps to dissolve and soften the hard tissue. Castor oil is an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant oil that has been used for centuries. The Egyptians lived by this vegetable oil that is obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor plant.
The massage technique of scar tissue remediation is what I performed on Derek. It consisted of heating up a flannel pack containing castor oil. Castor Oil Therapy has been around for centuries; it became introduced widely in current times by Edward Cayce, who recommended it for treating many ailments, including ailments similar to Peyronie's Disease.
After placing the flannel pack on the penis, it heats up the area to help soften the plaque and assist in circulation around the area. During this time, I typically do emotional support for the client. I suggest that they pay close attention to any sensations they may be feeling in the penis or anywhere else in the body. This allows a space for the man to drop into their body and identify what feelings are connected with the ailment. I find that this is a moment when men really confront their manhood, not being able to perform or having the perception of being damaged.
Once the flannel pack is off, I implement some massage around the area that has the plaque. I do different massage techniques using the finger pads; ranging from gentle to deep. It is very important, since I am working on such an intimate area, that consent be established beforehand. The person on the table is the one who calls the shots. At this point I also have the person who is receiving the touch witness the different strokes, rubs and massages that I am doing on the affected area. This is an ongoing thing that a man can do by himself in the comfort of his home.
Derek not only saw benefit from the scar tissue remediation, he also had a emotionally visceral reaction while being intentionally touched on his troubled area. He began to have some feelings of trauma around having been treated so incompetently at the hospital when his catheter was removed. The fear of not being able to enjoy sex, masturbation or even becoming erect was crowded with anxiety and stress. He has since been practicing self massage on the plaque ridden area for the past 2 months and has seen plenty of improvement.
Peyronie's Disease, as serious as the symptoms can be, does not have to be the end of your manhood.
